Few figures in football history embody the underdog spirit of the game like Mark “Mighty Mouse” McMillian.
Despite standing just 5-foot-7, McMillian built an NFL career defined by speed, instincts, and relentless competitiveness. Now serving as General Manager of the Las Vegas franchise, he brings that same determination and football IQ to the International Arena League.
McMillian first gained national attention as a sprint champion in high school before becoming a standout defensive back at Glendale Junior College, where he earned All-American honors.
His success led him to the University of Alabama, where he played under legendary head coach Gene Stallings and still holds the Alabama record for the longest interception return touchdown in school history.
In the 1992 NFL Draft, McMillian was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles, where he immediately made an impact and earned recognition on the prestigious All-Madden Team as a rookie.
His career continued with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he delivered one of the most memorable seasons of his career in 1997. That year he recorded eight interceptions (tied for the NFL lead) and returned three for touchdowns, including an 87-yard return, setting a franchise record with 274 interception return yards.
The performance earned him the nickname “Mighty Mouse,” a tribute to his ability to outplay much larger opponents.
McMillian later finished his eight-year NFL career with the Washington Redskins, sharing the secondary with Hall of Fame defensive backs Darrell Green and Champ Bailey.
Off the field, McMillian has continued to impact the community through youth mentorship programs in Las Vegas and even showcased his creativity in the kitchen as a contestant on Gordon Ramsay’s hit television show “Next Level Chef.”
Now as General Manager, McMillian brings NFL experience, leadership, and championship mindset to Las Vegas as the franchise builds its identity within the International Arena League.
