Pennsylvania Benjamins Sign Defensive Back Raymond Boone
READING, Pa., March 25, 2026 – The Pennsylvania Benjamins have added another piece to the secondary, announcing the signing of defensive back Raymond Boone as the club continues to build its roster for the 2026 International Arena League season. The official league announcement described Boone as an addition that brings depth and versatility to the Benjamins’ defensive backfield.
Boone arrives in Reading after playing at Bowie State, where he was listed at 6-foot, 195 pounds and earned CIAA All-Rookie Team honors in 2019. A native of Landover, Maryland, Boone played defensive back for the Bulldogs and developed a reputation as a physical, confident presence in the secondary.
His path also included an NFL opportunity after college. In May 2023, HBCU Gameday reported that Boone received a shot with the Washington Commanders rookie minicamp, giving him exposure at the next level and adding another layer of experience to his football résumé.
For the Benjamins, the signing continues a clear trend of adding athletes with size, pedigree, and playmaking potential as the franchise prepares for its inaugural season in Reading. Boone gives Pennsylvania another defensive back with college production and the kind of physical style that fits the indoor game, where space closes quickly and every snap puts pressure on the secondary. That matters for a Benjamins team that is assembling a roster designed to bring intensity to Santander Arena from opening kickoff onward.
With the Benjamins getting set to take the field in the International Arena League, Boone now joins a roster that is steadily taking shape and giving fans in Reading more reasons to watch closely as the season approaches.
