Bennett Johnson III serves as General Manager of the Glasgow Tartans, bringing more than 25 years of executive leadership experience across finance, government administration, and strategic business development.
Johnson previously served as Budget Director for the City of Chicago, where he oversaw the city’s $6 billion operating budget and $2 billion capital budget covering more than 40 departments and more than 35,000 employees. During his tenure he implemented management reforms designed to strengthen the city’s fiscal condition and increase operational efficiency.
He began his career in investment banking with A.C. Advisory where he participated in the execution of more than $34 billion in municipal bond transactions. His work focused on structuring financing strategies for large public and private sector initiatives.
Johnson later joined Capri Capital, one of the largest African-American real estate investment firms in the United States, where he led sustainability initiatives across the firm’s $4 billion portfolio while directly managing more than $1.5 billion in luxury real estate assets.
Most recently he founded Oceans Holdings Group, a consulting and private capital firm focused on emerging trends in energy, finance, technology, and global markets.
Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Harvard University and a master’s degree in Industrial Relations from the London School of Economics. He also serves on several nonprofit boards focused on education and community development.
