CINCINNATI, Ohio — International Arena League (IAL) — The Cincinnati Slingers have added another dynamic defensive presence with the signing of linebacker and defensive end Robert Garrett.

Garrett, a 6-foot-3, 245-pound defender out of Central State University, brings speed and physicality to the Slingers defensive unit. Known for his explosiveness off the edge, Garrett has the versatility to play both defensive end and linebacker in the fast-paced arena format.

During his time at Central State, Garrett developed into a disruptive defensive playmaker capable of chasing quarterbacks, closing running lanes, and making plays in open space.

Slingers Head Coach believes Garrett’s athleticism makes him a perfect fit for the indoor game.

“Robert plays with speed and aggression,” the coach said. “He can rush the passer, drop into coverage, and attack the ball carrier. That kind of versatility is exactly what we look for on defense.”

The Slingers front office also emphasized Garrett’s upside and ability to grow within the system.

“Robert is a high-motor defender who plays with intensity,” the team’s General Manager said. “We expect him to be a disruptive presence for us this season.”

Garrett said the opportunity to compete in the International Arena League is something he’s been working toward.

“I’m grateful for the chance to represent Cincinnati and compete at the professional level,” Garrett said. “I’m ready to bring energy and make plays for this team.”
